Rebecca Eakin MSc has 5 years of experience in the field of biomedical science and cancer therapeutics. Rebecca joined CV6 Therapeutics in January 2025, following the achievement of a Master of Science by Research in Cancer Medicine (Distinction).
Rebecca’s Masters research focused on furthering our understanding of the mechanisms of DNA uracilation and potential application in cancer therapeutics. Rebecca’s research was conducted in the Nucleotide Metabolism Group at Queen’s University Belfast, our collaborative partner laboratory, under the supervision of Dr Melissa Labonte.
Rebecca plays a vital role in ensuring the CV6 Therapeutics laboratory remains clean, safe, organised, and fully operational. She oversees routine maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment, manages the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and supports the smooth day-to-day functioning of the lab.
Rebecca also has key responsibilities within the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), helping to ensure that laboratory activities comply with internal procedures and regulatory standards. Rebecca also supports Health and Safety compliance, including chemical handling, COSHH documentation, and risk assessments.
In addition to a Master of Science, Rebecca attained a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from Queen’s University Belfast.
